It has to be Camusdarach beach, near Arisaig in the Highlands. We used to camp there when I was a kid, and it’s where they filmed Local Hero, with my uncle, Denis Lawson."
Glenancross provides self catering accommodation for 12 in a traditional Farmhouse set in glorious natural Scottish countryside, a short walk from the famous Camusdarach beach, featured in the hit film 'Local Hero' and 'Highlander'. Glenancross is 5 miles equidistant from Morar and Arisaig both of which have friendly hotels with bars and dining rooms serving local seafood and produce. Restaurants, pubs, grocery and craft shops can also be found in the larger town of Mallaig, 7 miles away, from where you can sail 'over the sea' to Skye.

The farmhouse was built in the 19th Century and provides welcoming, comfortable and spacious self catering accommodation for 12. There is a farmhouse kitchen with an Aga and round table dining for 12, a living room with coal burning stove and comfortable seating for twelve and a small sunroom with access out to an enclosed garden laid with lawn and shrubs. The farmhouse sleeps 12 in two double bedrooms (both en-suite), an additional double bedroom, two twin bedrooms (one en-suite) and a bunk bedroom with full sized beds. Holidays at Glenancross normally run per week, Saturday to Saturday. Off season we are delighted to offer long or short weekend breaks from £350. Glenancross is the perfect location to enjoy a winter break with bracing walks then an evening relaxing round the fire, with your boots drying by the Aga - perfect x
